I have always had a keen interest in shooting and have shot for my county on many occasions and have a particular interest in the development of young shooters or people who would like to move from club type targets, to more testing competition targets.
The ground has unmatched beauty, and is second to none for it’s topography. I enjoy setting good testing targets where the club shooter can visit and have a fantastic day out, shoot good scores and rub shoulders with the best in the world. People pay for the pleasure of breaking targets. If they don’t have a good time, then I have failed as a course builder. I am the first to admit that I don’t always get it right. The shooting school has been a life long dream and I continually strive to develop it to its full potential.
My course building experience has been utilized widely. In 1993 I designed the English F.I.T.A.S.C. Grand Prix course and in 1999 helped build the World English sporting course in San Antonio Texas.
I have enjoyed building simple, complex and down right serious courses at a number of venues. Latterly my skills have been used by Mike Brunton in the construction of the Classic and Triple Classic events in the UK, Russia and America. 2014 I was appointed an official course builder for FITASC. Increasing regular numbers at Purbeck Shooting School are testament to whether we are “getting it about right” this is the real test. With this experience you can be guaranteed that the ground will offer great shooting.
